Privacy Policy
This policy covers this website (jasonbellows.com), Alfred, a personal assistant run by Jason Bellows, and its text message program, Alfred text messages from Jason Bellows. The program is registered under the brand Jason Bellows, sole proprietor, in Utah, USA. "I", "me" and "we" mean Jason Bellows.
The short version. Alfred is for my own use. It keeps its data on my own computer. If you text it to ask for a preview, your number is used only for that. I don't sell data. I don't share your mobile number or text-message consent with anyone for marketing.
Who uses Alfred
Right now, only I use Alfred. It is not offered to the public. Sometimes I let a guest see a short, read-only preview of Alfred's dashboard, which they ask for by text (see below). If Alfred is ever offered to others, I'll update this policy first.
What Alfred stores
- The messages I send to Alfred and its replies, by voice, chat, Telegram and text message.
- Notes, lists, reminders and "memories" Alfred keeps so it can help me later.
- For text messages: my phone number, the date and time I opted in or out, and the messages themselves.
- For guests who text PREVIEW: your phone number, your message, the time you sent it, whether I approved it, and the reply sent. Nothing else about you is collected.
- Basic logs, such as errors and timing, to keep the system working.
This data is stored on my own computer, a Mac mini in my home. Backups are kept on my own storage.
Service providers
Alfred uses a few outside services to work. They only get what they need to do their job:
- AI model providers. The text of a message is sent to an AI model service so it can be understood and answered.
- Twilio. Carries text messages and phone calls to and from Alfred's phone number.
- Telegram. Carries messages I send to Alfred through Telegram.
- Website hosting. The company that hosts this website may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses.
Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy. I don't use Google, Meta or X to run Alfred or to store its data. When I ask Alfred to do something in an account I already have there (for example, reading my own Gmail), it uses that account the way I would, under that service's own terms.
Text messages (SMS)
Alfred only texts people who texted it first. There are two kinds of recipients:
- Me (Jason Bellows). I opt in by texting JOIN or ALFRED to (435) 222-5084 and replying Y to confirm. I get replies to my requests and reminders I set. Message frequency varies.
- Guests. You opt in by texting PREVIEW to (435) 222-5084 and replying Y to confirm. You get up to 2 messages per request: a welcome, then one reply with a one-time, read-only preview link if I approve, or a short note if I don't.

Guests' phone numbers are used only to send the preview you asked for and to honor STOP. They are never added to a marketing list, never texted otherwise, and never shared or sold.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Twilio, which delivers the messages, processes phone numbers and message content only to deliver them.
What I don't do
- I don't sell or rent personal data.
- I don't use data for advertising.
- This website has no analytics, trackers, ads or cookies.
If you email me
If you email [email protected], I'll use your email address only to reply to you, or to tell you about testing if you asked me to.
How long data is kept
Alfred keeps my own messages and memories until I delete them. A guest's preview request and phone number are deleted within 30 days. If a guest replies STOP, only the number and the opt-out record are kept, so the STOP is always honored. Opt-in and opt-out records are kept as long as the text program runs. Service providers keep their own copies for the time their policies allow.
Deleting your data
If you've contacted me or texted Alfred's number and want your information deleted, email [email protected]. I'll delete what I hold, except anything I must keep by law, and tell you when it's done.
Security
Alfred's private pages can only be reached from my own devices. I use reasonable steps to protect the data, but no system is perfectly secure.
Children
Alfred is not meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If I change this policy, I'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
